Are you someone working in education who wants to take charge of your finances and remove the stress of money from your life? Then you need to attend this free session, which is an introduction to the Financial Resilience for Educators Series.
Students need to be ready for life after graduation.
As young adults, they need to know how to determine needs versus wants, delay gratification, put together a budget, avoid debt, and maximize savings.
There's a problem.
Many students aren’t getting any of this much-needed training in school. In fact, according to the Council for Economic Education 2018 Survey of the States, only 17 states require high school students to take a course in personal finance. Learn More.
We are here to help you solve it.
We know educators want things to be different, and we also know it's hard to know where to start. From finding current and credible resources to creating engaging and memorable lessons, it's a big task. The ChooseFI Foundation is ready to help.
A team of educators from across the country and around the globe joined the ChooseFI Foundation to create our PreK-12 Financial Literacy Curriculum.
The curriculum is totally free, easy to implement, and easy to adapt. Each unit includes ways to provide additional support and scaffolding, as well as extension and enrichment opportunities, for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Let's make financial literacy the foundation of the next generation's future.
The ChooseFI PreK-12 Financial Literacy Curriculum is here to support educators as they bring financial literacy to classrooms around the country and the globe. Whether you are looking for a handful of lesson ideas or an entire semester's worth of unit planning, you will find what you're looking for here.
Our curriculum integrates a variety of skills, pulling in standards from math, literacy, finance, and social science. Why? Because money matters in so many aspects of life, we know every educator can help young people build financial literacy skills.
Encourage younger learners to build foundational skills to help them better understand the important ways that money influences our lives.
Invite early adolescents to build on their financial literacy foundation while helping them set actionable goals surrounding saving, investing, and entrepreneurship.
Give young adults the opportunity to explore and apply real-world financial skills, setting them up for success no matter where life takes them after graduation.
We are currently preparing students for jobs that don’t yet exist, using technologies that haven’t yet been invented, in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet.
Students strategize ways to tackle real-life issues--from student loan debt to consumer culture--that will impact them now and later.
Students work in pairs, small groups, and whole classes to gather insight and explore varied perspectives on the topic of money.
Students will spend time reflecting on societal issues and creating personal actions steps for a more financially-sound future.
The ChooseFI Foundation Curriculum will guide students to become financially literate in today's world, with a focus on becoming financially independent. Certified and experienced educators with a passion for improving the financial literacy of our youth designed these lessons, resources, and assessments for any educator who wants to bring financial literacy into their classroom.
