About Airman

Airman Mildollar is a United States Air Force officer who writes anonymously about personal finance, especially retirement planning, financial independence/early retirement (FIRE), and the military pay system.

She first started studying personal finance in college, when she realized she didn't understand credit cards, budgeting, or investing. After graduating college and commissioning into the Air Force, Airman paid off $42,000 of debt in 3.5 years while simultaneously starting to invest, just before The Great Recession began. Now in her mid-30s, Airman is financially independent and on her way to being double or even triple FI by the time she retires in her 40s. Her personal finance interests are focused on retirement planning, FIRE, tax optimization, and teaching others that personal finance doesn't have to be difficult or time consuming. She also loves food and dogs.
